Build A Circular Social Enterprise?

The Ambition

To test the feasibility of a scalable, year-round circular enterprise in the UAE, anchored in reuse, redistribution, repair, and upcycling, that leverages surplus goods to meet community needs, reduce waste, and generate sustainable value. The aim was to explore how surplus, whether unused, underutilized, or waste, could be channeled into an enterprise model delivering social, environmental, and economic returns.

How We Achieved It

We carried out a comprehensive opportunity analysis, stakeholder and supply chain mapping, and a needs assessment among low-income communities. This was followed by business model development and cost-revenue analysis, resulting in a detailed feasibility study designed to shape a purpose-built social enterprise for Dubai.

The Outcome

A scalable, sustainability-driven social enterprise model rooted in circular economy principles, validated through research, stakeholder engagement, and pilot testing, designed to position Dubai as a leader in surplus transformation and resource optimization.
